These are my favorite to make -ivy grows like a weed so when trimming ivy around the yard I always like to make planters for my porch. It's also inexpensive and thoughtful gift and a good substitute for that bottle of wine you always bring.

Take an old planter and soak soil or planter liner, I have a woven insert.
Trim excess ivy or other similar type cutting and intertwine in and around the liner. Wah-la.
